I have started to work with two types of clay to build garden features, handmade buttons and bowls and dishes. I am experimenting with design and glazes all the time to achieve original pieces.
I also work in charcoal and water colour to create drawings and paintings inspired from forms and colours in the Suffolk countryside and coastal region.
I am developing hand crafted ceramic buttons in porcelain, inspired by my mother’s button box, creating a variety of designs and using different glazing techniques to create special buttons which can be used to replace those on well-loved garments and as collector’s items, or maybe just a button or two to squirrel away in your very own button box.
I am planning a range of clay objects for the garden made from stoneware to include decorative objects and functional pieces such as water features.
